Long day.  Got to learn  about the kidney today

Definitely an interesting day.  I had my appointment with the urologist this morning, met David early in Noho and he brought me to Springfield where we learned about kidneys.  It is possible that I've only had one working kidney for a while now and not known it.  What they are going to try and determine is how much use I have of both kidneys and what is causing the interruption in the right one.  There seems to be a small mass that is not seeable on the ultrasound, so they will now do a C-SCan.   The Doc ordered 3 different tests to be done.  They can't be done until after the cardio procedure which I believe will happen on June 1st.

After David dropped me off at my own car I took myself to the Whately diner and tried to make sense of the past couple of days.  I think its alright.

Then I tried to write over at the canal, but to no avail.  I then went to GCC where they were having the launching of the journal in which I have a poem.  They published The Clark, which is a poem I think I shared on this last August.  I love it.  I read it aloud today and I knew it resonated.  That was great.  Both Clara and Charlie were there, too.  I miss those guys.

I went to the rookery about 6:45 and talked on the phone with Patrick for a while.  Once I knew the sun was truly setting I drove on up to look over the Berkshires.  Very pretty evening.

I'm a little lost in all of this medical stuff, but I'm so glad I am grounded in friendships and that my poetry community has gotten so strong.   I realized today sitting in that GCC room that my poetry community is tightly wrapped around me.  Their embrace was much clearer than the GCC negatives.
