 Happy Birthday, Patrick  Beaugard.

Love you so

Diane and I drove to Bard to go to Nash's  senior show.  It felt great to run away from home and go do something new and exciting.   Not that a college senior's art show is new to me, but this one was.  Like  Marlboro, it's easy to spot a Bard student.  Felt pretty comfortable to be in a large room full of them and it was just wonderful to see the final installation of Nash's prints.  Very cool

They had five large pieces of log that they carved into.  Then they printed on material with different colors, different pressures and sections of logs.  Each log was its own story, and as a group hanging together there was a story.
I'm not going to do a narrative of it here on my blog.  I'll keep to my day, but I am going to put something together.  It really was phenomenal.  Complexity and chaos  rule these pieces, and yet, they seem to tell a giant story.  Each one is very different.  All together they are a city street and a forest.

Jude went to Center School with EJ so many years ago.  He's graduating this semester, too.  His dream paintings were in today's show.  It really felt like a fast forward moment.  These guys were in elementary school together 10 years ago and now they'll both walk at graduation in 2 weeks.

EJ's friends are doing remarkable work.  So inspiring to see it.  I had met a few of them a year ago at circus, but this is the first time I got to see any of their work.  It was really fun.

I really loved meeting friends and their families. I just like being in that super creative, productive environment where people are exploring what makes them sing.   Thanks, EJ, for a great afternoon.

And Di and I get to go off and blab.   It was a sweet little vacation day for me.

This is AJ's paintings. There were six of these large groups of panes making up large windows in which they painted.  All six were entirely different. I loved them.  This is a piece of my favorite one.
