Today is our sister Barb's earthly birthday.  Paul and I got some time alone today, a little remembrance, but mainly catch up time for us.  We drove to Winchester so we could hug EJ. We took the scenic route, he drove my car and I did not take one photo.  I snapped this when we got back to my house.

About 5 I went up to the rookery and hung out for a bit, ate an orange, gave thanks to how blessed I am.  There were Canada geese, Common Merganser, Mallards, wood ducks and this heron.

Then, this evening, Jo, Amie and I went up to hear Candace, Lea and Janet read.  They did a wonderful job.  I always feel a little too snug in Mocha Maya's, however, the deep rich red walls and odd lights are great atmosphere.

An open mic followed.  It's a new reading series and people weren't  all that ready to do the open mic, but our team read read a little.  I love our writing group.

Kind of a full day.  I'm going to sleep well.  I'm glad I got out and did something other than hurt or focus on hurting.  Yeah, it was nice to focus on the good.   Sitting and listening to poets' read for 90 minutes gets my own voice going.  I thought of like three ideas for pieces sitting there, but now I can't remember any of them.  Makes me crazy.
