Ok, Monday, yes, you start a new week and the potential of satisfaction happening does exist.  I can finish tasks this week, it can happen.  
I did make it to the Y this morning.  I was proud of myself.  I get tired easily all of a sudden.
I did take a shorter nap and I did go to the rookery where it was 53 degrees and snowing. What has happened to our world.




You've got a dark brown bodied duck with a purple under wing, what is he?

And I believe this is my first eagle siting of the year at the rookery, but he's very strange looking.   

Is he missing feathers? Is his tail dark and feet white?  What's going on?  He hung out at the rookery for 10 minutes or so and went from high place to high place and he never landed in a way that gave me a full profile.  I think he looks like he's part eagle part duck.  


The bird list was good today, but it was different than it has been recently.  There were Canada geese, red wing blackbirds, grackle, black ducks, bluebirds, vulture, eagle, and robins. It was chilly out there today even though the thermometer was not as low as it felt.  One minute I'm drawing in this beautiful sun and the next minute there's snow coming in the window.   




I spent the day sad.  I think I have to admit that, I think I have to admit that I am disappointed in my own capacity to get stuff accomplished.   Can't I work on one creative project and one project that I am responsible to others for?  I need to get the bank stuff done.   

I dreamt last night that a group of my Marlboro friends let this young woman I know drive my new car and she crashed it into the side of a very steep stone wall. I was totally confused by their letting her drive because the new car was a huge truck that needed real strength to use the clutch and it was obvious she couldn't handle it.  Then I had to get into the truck and move it out of the wall.  I was afraid I wouldn't be able to engage the clutch, but I had no difficulty and I started down a road with EJ and Marlboro gang in the back of the truck.
My dreams have been so strange since I went on the heart meds.

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
