Today is my grandmother, Laura Overman's, birthday. (1886-1982). I was due April 1st, but Mom said I said, "April Fools Day" and went back inside.  She thought I was waiting to be born on Grandma's birthday, but the full moon pulled me out first.  Ahhh the lore developed around one's birth. Am I the only kid who engaged in the creation of birth lore with Mom?
Happy Birthday, Sophie Cabot Black.  Hope you are having a nice one.

I'm so happy the beavers are back in the pond.  The building up of food in the pond begins once again.  Last Fall it wasn't deep enough to merit beaver activity, but this year I have seen a lot.  And there are a lot of turtles, and the red wing black birds are conspicuous, as it says in Merlin, yes, they are conspicuous and LOUD.
The temperatures are going back down.  This week has demonstrated 4 New England seasons.  They are warning snow tomorrow.  It just gives me an excuse to feel comfortable staying put and not taking it as an indication that I am sick.

The rookery has gone back to being my den.  It's been really pretty up there, and calming, which I've needed.  I'm pretty worried about stuff. But I'm soothed by the quiet newness that is being built.
