The American Black Duck dominated the rookery today.  They actually were making some noise, too.  They're more sophisticated than the mergansers and bigger than the wood ducks. Today they were very present.

When I woke up this morning I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to hold my body upright and come down the stairs.  I think I am so determined to get in the pool that I just keep making the steps I need to get there in hopes that after a few minutes my body will move through it. This morning took a little longer, but I got there.  And the pool was essential.  And the smiles of my  pool community were essential, too.
It felt so relieving to be in the water, again I just wanted to stay there all day, or in the hot tub.  Although staying too long in the hot tub at the moment makes me nervous.

The question is; did I over do it yesterday, and the answer maybe, yes, but I don't think I'll change my behaviour. I don't want to limit my experiences, so I will move slowly and not do as much, but I won't stop all together.

After the pool I got some lunch with a really old friend whom I adore.  I wish we had more time together.   I just appreciate her presence in my life.  We have some shared understanding of life.  I always feel so relaxed.

I slept 3 hours afterwards. OMG.

And then I went to the rookery and tried to write a little.

I'm telling you the ducks have found it this year. I'm getting to know them better.  No turtles, yet, and I have not seen the heron in a few days.  Today I heard the kingfisher, but couldn't see him.  It was 70 at 6 tonight and a little cloudy.  Quite beautiful as the sun was beginning to fall behind the mountain.   It was very nice to be there.   I am looking for nice these days.  I need nice.

8 or 9 deer were at the beginning of Taylor Road.  This is where I believe there are spirits.  I confused a driver coming out of Taylor because I stopped to take a photo and tried to wave him on.  All I did was scare the deer.

Tomorrow I see the knee doctor. We can't talk replacement until I know what is happening with the heart, kidney and spine.  But I thought I should go anyways so at least he's up to date.   I have to tell you I am quite grateful for Medicare and Mass Health  at this point.
