The lovely and lively Common Merganser, he really has won a place in my heart.

I find it amazing that the rookery is so full of water this week.

Walking around with a heart monitor on all day is strange.  It's not painful or even annoying, it's just there reminding you you have a heart which is essential to your being, I mean, really, essential.  It is this fist size muscle in  your chest that is maintaining a complicated rhythm throughout your day and making sure oxygen gets pumped into your blood and throughout your body from your tippy toes  to your hair folic, it pumps your blood constantly.

I have this little digital device hanging on me by sticky electrodes.  I so want to see what information it is giving to whatever is picking it up.   The little green light was blinking every 6 seconds yesterday, today it's more like 12 seconds.  Is there any reason for that?

Bird count was fun today.  Rookery was 57 this afternoon with  only a few clouds in the sky.  There was a breeze and the water level was high.  No big birds flew over.  I heard red wings and I saw a few bluebirds, both at the rookery and at home.  And I wrote a couple of love geese haiku.

They are so loud, but they were the only things other than peepers making any sound at all.  One lone Canada goose honking in the center until her mate found her.  Then she stopped.

I didn't go anywhere else today.  My body hurts and it confuses me so I just stayed home and babyed it.  I think I will do the same tomorrow.  I'm really not sure if the pain is coming from nerves and structural components or this kidney is just doing it differently than the norm.  Would be so like me.  Can't just do it like everyone else.

I miss my Mom today.
