Happy Birthday, Adriene!!!!! I hope your day was joyful.
I had lunch with Thane (seen here singing to me on my 70th b'day).  I love seeing Thane.  His life is taken up by work and family and I'm so happy for him, but I do miss his company.  The Y pool had to close because of a broken chlorinator, thus, no swimming.  But having a lunch date with Thane made it passable.  We hung out for a couple hours.  He walked into my GCC office 37 years ago and I hired him to do The New Word which was a very cool journal of literacy students' writings from W. Massachusetts programs.  He edited it for 2 years and then Jason did it for  a year, which I'd forgotten.  He was 23 years old.  Time.

Today's weather was very similiar than last year.   The Ides have broken Winter's back and we are sliding into Spring.   




Got my cone Dragon's Blood incense to release smoke from below and create a little pool of smoke.  It's such a great atmospheric element, and I think the smell increases, too.

EJ's back at work and released to go back to normal life so he got me to join Diane and him for Korean, such good tastes. I just ate bites of each dish that they all had.  YUM. 

That was my day.   Very low key blog day, very self caring me day because pain is higher.  I did get a cardiologist appointment, though.  And I'm hoping my week will be a little less introspective and a little more proactive.  Here's to that being accomplished.

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
