Holes from a giant skipping stone.


Almost very late to the Board Meeting.  I was looking at the Coop's clock and not our phones.  Kevin all of a sudden realizes it is just 2.  We got up and went.  Sitting at the Board table without having been with the staff for a while was a brand new experience. LAVA Center does wonderful work, if you are interested in supporting a very good non-profit,  donate to LAVA.  
To have someone with you for a few days in a row is also an entirely new experience for me, or at least, a very rare one.  I've had a really sweet few days.  One thing I have recognized in myself  this weekend is I am smart.  I forget I can think.  I forget I can hold my end to a smart conversation.  So nice to have someone to do that with.

After the Board Meeting we went up to the rookery and for my normal ride.  Spring is on its way.  We may get more snow, but you can see the tilt.  Clocks got changed today so sunset was at 6:48.  It's so interesting to lose that hour but in return have a longer evening.   Kevin, Di, EJ and I went to dinner.  I love my friends.  Really nice evening and I get to go to bed early with my book.

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
