The ducks have arrived at the Rookery.


I was greeted by very fat goats and ducks today at the rookery. Perfection.

The rookery really was beautiful today.  I went up there after I tried to do laundry and get the recycling under control.  Amazingly hard... So I took in deep breaths and watched ducks waddle.  The wood ducks have arrived.  YAY.




People did respond to last night's blog on fb.  Tomorrow I will focus on some of the workbook and share my thoughts.   

I know last night worried my family a little bit because of how few details I actually said about my health.  It's complicated, it's several different things at once so when I am able to articulate what's happening clearly I will tell my family.  Meanwhile, I'm plugging along and trying my damnest not to be a food addict.

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
