This was kind of a perfect weather day.  It was 31 when I took this shot.  It was beautiful
I made it to the Y this morning.  I still hurt, but I got there and I indulged in it.  I smiled throughout it. I love it.


Yeti is melting.  I think it's interesting how not smooth he has become in his melting state.   The temperatures were so low all weekend, I think most of the melting must have been today, but I don't know. There was sun yesterday.  


Tell me what you think has been in my driveway?  I'm not sure I was able to identify any of the prints today.  I mean I know which ones are birds and which ones are 4 legged, but I can't identify any of them.  Well, maybe human in the middle there.  
Tonight Clara and I cooked dinner together.   She cooked a potato carrot soup and rolls and I made baked apples.  It was delicious and it made my house smell so good.  Plus, hanging out while cooking and then setting the table and eating together felt so civilized.  I really enjoyed it.  We're trying to do it a couple time a month.  

I'm very tired, though.

Tomorrow I get the paperwork for my car.  It will be legally mine.  It's a gift from so many people, starting with Annie and Matt, and Geoff and Marcie, and another 80 people or so and ending with Kevin.  Thank you  everyone so much.  How cool, how magical, how wonderful is this?

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
