First program at LAVA since December.   Really  good life narration through song,  rap, storytelling and poetry, ending with a long narrative poem on the state of the world while solving a rubric cube. Right up my alley.

I was a little more present today than I have been, but feeling the enormity of the irrational fundamental  stupidity of the world and its leaders at the moment.  So taken aback at how easy it is for my fellow humans to get side tracked and lead to tiny squabbles that are irrelevant to the big issue.  We are wasting time.  Time that we don't have.  What possible benefit can come out of taking the drivers licenses away from a group of people who've already got enough to wrestle with?  How can it help anyone else to render a community paralyzed from driving? And it is extremely difficult to not get horribly depressed by all of it.  The only thing I can think pf to do to help is  to not pay taxes and give the money to the organizations who are having an impact protecting trans rights and/or starting a community or a safe house.
The sun was out. Blue sky was reflected in thawing circles of water in the canal and a few gulls had returned.  Lots of dog walking humans and bike riding smaller humans on Migratory  Way.  And I talked to a  couple of friends.  But I ate all wrong for the 3rd day in a row and once again forgot to go to the  pharmacy.

I went to go to tonight's show and got there an hour early, thought I'll just go home.  But instead I went and ate some Tom Kur Coconut Soup and Chicken Satay.  Nice waitress, gentle restaurant and an easy half block back to LAVA.  I'm really glad I did it.

First, his story was compelling, his message was compelling, not just as an immigrant or a black man in this country, but as a human trying to make positive and kind decisions in the world. and

Second, it was a model for my six story narrative of my life I want to create.  It was really a great example of the poignancy of doing this one person show of a journey constructed by short illustrative stories within the bigger life story.
