I took this  photo of EJ in Ogunquit 15 years ago or more.  It came up in my memories today.  It's one of my favorite photos and it is a terrific memory.  We had a great weekend.  David had given us a hotel room in Portsmouth for a Valentine's Day present and Gerard and Brenda surprised us by showing up in the middle of the night and joining us for breakfast.  We ate at a lobster house and spent a lot of time in the pool.   Sweet times.


Looks like tomorrow will be a snow day so I tried to get all my out of the house errands done today. I even went to the Post Office for the first time in years.  And I remembered why I haven't gone, I had to stand in line for way too long and my back was giving out and I was bending over.   The lack of arthritis medicine is not going to work.


Again, no birds at the rookery and no birds at the canal.  I thought they were going to be getting ready for the storm.  I was wrong.   I saw humans, but that's it from the animal world.

That is the link for Billie's blog today.   I had three moments of jealousy today.  I'm not usually jealous, but today I felt it 3 times due to the incredible talent and expressiveness and willingness to express in younger friends/family.  Reading Billie's blog this morning was my first moment.   I'm hoping to do some dialogue writing with them this year.  So happy to be sent this.

The second time was photos sent to me by EJ's friend, Nash, whose printmaking work is exciting me and making me want to do my own print making project.   Nash sent me some new photos this morning and they were thrilling and I was jealous.  LOL

And 3rd moment was seeing that Skylar had been invited to read at a series that I like and that I  have never been invited to.  Yup, pure and simple, jealousy.

I really like this series of reflections in the ice.  I think they have good potential.   

Got up early and had breakfast with Denise.  I got to see her New Zealand trip photos.  Want to look at them again, actually I want to go and take my own.  Oh well, that won't happen soon.


All day I've felt grumpy.  I was going to go watch some Olympics, but I think my issue is a sore throat, so we are going to keep it to ourself.   I'll watch some figure skating on line.

March 20, 2026 Happy Happy Birthday, Clara Witty! Happy Spring.  Oh yes, we're ready for it. The difference between the rookery today and yesterday was big.  I was hoping a photo from each day would show the difference, but it doesn't.  There was much more open space today, but it showed mud not running water.  The running water continues in this stream across the whole thing.   So last night I did begin to think about starting a thread about preparing for death.  In our society that's such a negative statement, but in reality its positive.  Learning to talk about this stage of life, the stage I have just entered is healthy and helpful.   What has brought all this up for me is that I went through a series of tests looking for the cause of the pain I am in and the results are frightening.  They are not immediate, but they show the beginning of the deterioration of my body.  We're not supposed to talk about this stuff, but I had ...

  December 11, 2025 I got to see all three of my siblings this year, what a treat.  Also, I got to see all three spouses, double treat.  I only saw 2 of the next generation and then 4 of the next generation.  I guess we just don't live all that close any more and I have a hard time making it to holidays or doing any traveling at all. It was another day of no photography and no creative writing.  I did get some work done and I did go to LAVA, but my time of loneness was spent organizing the have to's in my life.  I also was in touch with many friends and making sure all were well.  All were well.  So again I offer no insights, I offer no entertainment, nothing really beautiful to look at.  But I am checking in and saying good night.  Here's to happy dreams.   Good night.
