Time to borrow T.'s camera and large lens.  Mating season is about over for this guy and the hawks are just beginning.  There were no swans in the canal today. My guess is they've headed for nest making in the Cove.

This morning Jo took me out for a Valentine's Day breakfast.  My night  of sleep had been so absolutely bizarre that I needed to go out and do something normal but special.  Breakfast was perfect. I was trying to remember the last time I had a boyfriend who did give me Valentine presents.  May have been 1972.  Really. I mean Annie has given me stuff on this day for year's and some kids in my life have given me cards, but I think Andy may have been the last boyfriend who acknowledged it.   LOL.  I think that may say something good about the guys in my life.

One of the best Valentine's Days I had was the day my nephew, Daniel, was born.  It was the same day that my dog Curry had her puppies and Loudy was born first.  They were my bestest for 15 years.  Happy Birthday, Daniel Whiton.  I hope you are enjoying the day.

I went for a ride around 4 today, headed for the Canal, looked for  the eagles.  There was a young man straining his neck up into the trees.  I knew that he had found them.  Sure enough, one single Bald Eagle sitting high up and taking a rest.   Usually there is at least one other around.  This was an adult, his partner must have been near.  The Canal is covered in snow.  There were 2 gulls out in the middle, but that's it for birds.

I saw none at Unity Park and found none at the Cove.  There were ice fishermen at the Cove, but no birds hanging around.
I  had a nice day.  I am in bad pain, but I kept it simple and I enjoyed all I did do.  Tomorrow EJ and I are meeting Sarah and Billie in Holyoke.  That will make me very happy.  The first time we all met at the mall EJ was 3. But it's been a long time since the last time.  I'm going to go to Barnes and Noble, too.
