And then there is the rookery at 4 in the afternoon, on a cold day with a clear sky, a place of solace, and place of beauty. I needed it today. I'm so confused by the medical world, today I just needed to be surrounded by C. Geese and ducks. The water is beginning to freeze too, and it was deep enough in the front part of the pond next to the cat tails that the bird life was all there this afternoon, right under my chin. I also looked for otters. This is otter time.
You can see how shallow it is in places, especially in the places where it is icing up. On the other side you see how far across the grass grew and that the circumference of the pond is much smaller. The sunset was evident at the top of the hill. I think there were several spirits up here today.
Down the hillside one place just before the Greenfield I looked like there was snow on edge of the road. I took photos of what may have been frost making designs across the rock and plant.
Had dinner at Jo's with Candace and Jo and made some final decisions on the new anthology. Do you remember the taste of consommé on deck at 11? Jo made a chicken soup that brought that exquisite taste back into the forefront of my mind.
