I love ferry boats, so every time Patrick crosses from Nantucket to the main land he sends me a photo from the ferry.  It must have been cold out on the water today, but I love a good porthole.

In the rookery there were mergansers and black ducks.  Ice is covering a lot of it where there isn't current, but the ducks do have some open water.  I looked for otters again today, but I think I have to find another spot to see them, it doesn't look like they are coming down the creak this year.

I did see this red tailed.  He was big and although he was pretty far away, I got him.  He was staring out over the backyards on top of the hill where I'm sure he would catch dinner.

The brother horses were up closer to the road today.  I almost got out of the car to get them to come and say hi, but I worry about my leg.

Can I remember all the times

It was so cold i couldn't catch my breath

I was cold

I couldn't catch my breath

The sled tossing to and fro

As I begged my bladder to hold

Just a little longer

Shrouded in icicles

I was so cold i couldn't catch my breath

As we ran from their house to ours

my lungs hurt

my skin burned.

Which door did we plow in,

dropping onto the heat of the brick floor?

Too cold

My heart breaking

Could I tell the difference between right and wrong?

Too cold

Lungs hardening

Could I do both right and wrong?

It was so cold i couldn't catch my breath

As I rolled down

the 3 foot incline of new snow

to the road below in gentle silence

Only the sound of moisture crystalizing

Waiting for my body to shudder

And my legs to end

I don't remember all the times

I couldn't catch my breath

In frozen silence

Borderline apathy

Wanting an end

I screamed at the feel of him

Holding me down, pushing snow

Tight to my midriff

I screamed

I screamed

Don't let me up

Keep me down

Protected by or from

such tangible weight
