Happy Birthday, Thomas Leslie Toleno.

Saturday at LAVA was gentle and valuable today.  People wrote some good stuff during November and I just think the attention given to it is really beneficial to the process.   4 of us read stuff and responded to each others' work.   I wanted there to be more people, I thought 9 would come, but the 4 that did come were great.  Thanks, you all.   I have to now chose what I will read at Writers Read.

I have been keeping this blog on and off for15 years.  That's kind of astonishing.   It's come out in different forms; at least 5 years in this form.  This year has been the hardest attempt for me.  I've missed more days than ever and I haven't felt as tied to a camera as usual, mainly because I haven't had a good one until Gary lent me the Nikon in September.  By then I'd lost the habit of not going out without the camera.  My phone camera has just never done the same thing for me. And I've been caught with wanting to find ways to talk about important subjects, to have it be more interactive and not just journal like.

So now I think that in 2026 I am going to create a Signal Hill Photography website and I may keep a weekly blog attached to that.  But I kind of want to make my photography more about art this year than just documentation.   I also am so turned off by FB I would really like to find a better venue for interacting with people around my photography and writing.  If you have an ideas pass them on.

I have several friends in pain or bed ridden this week.  I'm lighting my altar in hopes of capturing a strong net or protective armor for all of you and me.   I want so much to just  get in the car and drive to visit in Vt., but I am wrestling with so many obstacles, it paralyses me.  I don't feel safe doing it at the moment.  I want that to change.  I like my independence, I like my mobility, I don't want to lose it, I want to regain what I've always had.

Thanks for listening, I'm struggling with a solid platform to voice the challenges of life.  I'll get there.
