1st Sunday had a head count of 40 today.

Sunday afternoon poetry reading is so civilized.  This group comes together from all over the place and they share voices.  It's an extraordinary event in the long run.  We are an old group who have established ourselves as a safe space and new people feel it all the time, feeling welcomed and returning.

Several people took good pictures today and a few of me that I like.  But they take them on their iphones on hi resolution so my phone can't upload them.  I need to learn how to do it on my computer again.   But I got a few shots from the back of the room.
If you are looking for some fun art come to LAVA in the next couple months.  The silent auction is going well and a new group of artwork was hung this weekend.   New stuff is cycled through often.

We're also beginning to get submissions for the Community Art Show.   People have another week to submit to it.  If you are interested look up the details on the website.   www.localaccess.org

By December we will have the final auction day, Community Art Show programming and I hope the release of the new Anthology.

I wrote 3 small poems today, but I won't post them.  I'll just post these photos.

I left LAVA around 4 and went to the Canal for a bit.  It is beginning to fill back up with water.   Many birds, many birds all in a large group with each other.  I saw a single male wood duck and a single hooded merganser.   There were several shore birds with their long narrow beaks.  6 heron, 2 bald eagles, geese, mallards, etc, etc.

Then I joined Jo for dinner.  We sat outside and I watched the sun go down and she got the moon coming up over Holy Trinity on Main Street.   Afterwards I went to the cemetery and tried to photograph the moon.   Instead I sat in it's light and talked to David on the phone.  Tomorrow I'll talk Patrick into going back up to Apex Orchards with his cool lens.

Enjoy the photos tonight.   I had a very good day and in spite of all the worries of the world, I think I managed to love.
