At 6 I went to the Library to see Rising Rivers Edge, a project that Clara has been coordinating and working on for the past 10 months to a year. It is a film that is looking at the work of our local farmers and how they are being affected by climate change. The team was made up of 4 people and the final film is really good.
The Greenfield Library hosted the first showing, which was really good because we would've had to turn people away. Over 80 people showed including a class from Northfield Mt. Hermon. A few of the farmers who were interviewed came, too.
We are lucky that we live in a valley that understands the importance of the farm on our lives, on our community. It is a place where people know that the bottom line in not the dollar, it is the health of our people and this topic is a big straightforward variable in that health, a major element of the real bottom line. The audience of tonight's program was knowledgeable and we talked about who it was who needed to see the film. It was a big success.
