Today's weather was all over the place, but at 6:30 the rain had stopped, there was a lot of mist and clouds, it was 68 degrees and the colors at the rookery were all new.  Including the male wood ducks are getting their colors, you may or may not be able to see him in his gloriosity.

The new shows are up in the galleries at LAVA.  Today was the opening of the Fall Appeal Fundraiser focusing in on Andy Rothchild's assemblages.  Go take a look and bid on something.  Other local artists' works are being hung as things sell.  This will be happening until the end of December. We are hoping for a good public turnout.

Fall flowers are everywhere.   They are so hearty and delicate at the same time.  The weather was lovely this morning, a little humid, but not oppressive.  By 2 the storm clouds were hanging over head and at 2:30 we were told to shelter inside and tornado warnings had been launched.  I slept through the whole things and by the time I awoke it was cloudy out.   Greenfield did not suffer any major destruction.  The fair shut down for a bit but were up and running again by 4:30.

I started my rookery ride at about 6:25 and I did it backwards.  The sun was still up in the sky, but the clouds and fog made it eerie.  I was home by sunset and there were no interesting sunset colors.  But the colors in the rookery itself were very unusual.
No four legged creatures at all today.  Actually the only animals I really saw were the male wood ducks in the rookery.  No heron, no swallows, no kingfisher, I guess they were all still in place, sheltered from the storm.
