Franklin County Fair Parade
Roundhouse Float.
Fun in Greenfield.

Disastrous morning so I went up to the Rookery at noon.  David sent me some music on line.  I sat for a half hour and wrote, listened to the Wood Brothers and watched the heron find her way across the flat.  Didn't bring me back to center, but almost, at  least enough to motivate me to go to work.

I had fun watching the parade, but I have to admit not as much fun as when I am with children. I was with 3 late 20 year olds, and they fun, but not like a good old four year old, or even a 14 year old who sings show tunes all the way to the fairgrounds.

EJ actually called twice during the parade, but not the same as having them with me.  Ahhhh, I miss you Whacky.  Maybe next year I'll get Ember to bring Eliza and Ethan down to watch.

I remembered our first Franklin County
Fair Parade in 1978.  Jay and I watched it from the front steps of the Federal St house.  He missed marching in the band and I was blown away by the political groups marching.   None of them were there today.  The Mayor was there, but none of the state politicos and very few social services, not even the Library.

I'm sorry my body won't let me go to the Fair this year.  I am clearly not able to walk that much this weekend.  I'd love to go see the animals and the Roundhouse, but there will be another year.
