Hey Happy Birthday, Melody Tilton.  Glad we share family.

The end of the month, the end of a show, an end of a summer,, and an end of a day.  After swimming, and being treated to breakfast for lunch, Patrick and I took all of the trash and recycling to the dump.  We stuffed, literally stuffed his van full of dump material.  Then we dumped it into the bins, or whatever they are.

At the dump there is this enormous pile of cut up trees of different types and different levels of deterioration.  The shapes and textures eaten into the wood is fascinating.  We went down to get a closer look.  He had a real camera on him, I just had my phone.  I took some of him that look like he's being eaten by the giant wood animal monster.  There was also fresh cut cherry that was so beautiful.  For wood lovers this might be a little paradise.

Then we went for a fast run to the rookery.   There were wood ducks and a heron and swallows and kingfisher.  The cattails are beginning to fluff out and the reeds are beginning to brown. It was about 67 and threatening clouds were all around, but in the end the sun won.

People showed up early tonight for the workshop or the final programming with the Words on Art on Words show.  59 people came, many of them had participated in the show.  It did not take long for there to be several conversations happening.

For me it was fascinating to hear people's observations about the show as a whole, about their own involvement with it and their art, what people were wanting from it and how it was to be called together to interact with a single project.
I think I am going to interview several of the people that came tonight and ask questions that address both the individual's process and their response to the whole.

Do we all believe that we are other?  Do we all have something that proves to ourselves that we don't belong?  Do we have that feeling to different degrees?

Stay tuned for the documentation of this year's project and stay tuned for the next tier that LAVA takes it.   Lots of talk about the need for adding an auditory component and I'm sure our next generation of Words on Art on Words will include sound.
What a day?   What a big day?  I feel so overwhelmed by life tonight.  That's not a bad thing necessarily, but it is big.  So I'm off to sleep in my cocoon.  Good night.
