The rookery at 5pm 74 degrees and air quality horrible.  One solitary heron standing in the spot where I believe the water from above is running through, there is an almost visible stream throughout the area.

The pool is closed for a couple  of weeks. Something broke. It's horrible. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive. Today I got a massage. She is really good and actually was more helpful in terms of my leg and knee than anyone else so far.  Although, it is tender tonight.

The smoke does filter the sun in red, everything has a melon colored  glow to it. I didn't take the loop tonight, I turned around to go back by the farm and I realized a red tailed was sitting in Beth's yard.  I stopped to shoot him and heard a hawk call on my other side.  Across the reeds was another hawk on a phone pole.  I don't think he was a red tailed, maybe a broad shouldered.  He was bigger.  He was chowing down on something.   I got a photo of him vomiting.  LOL   He let me get pretty close, but a phone camera is a phone camera.

I actually  had two neat surprises today.  The first was an envelope full of photos from the 3 European trips; 1960, 62 and 65.  Margi sent them to me. Most of them are me and Barb in 62.  Kind of shocking to look at.  It was a different world.  I'll scan them and share soon.

And the second was Gary spent the afternoon in my yard getting rid of all the vines and the growth that was taking over the place.   You can see the swing again.  It's amazing and so is Gary.  Thank you, friend.  I so appreciate it.   I think the herons are happy, too.
