Goats were coming back to the barn.  6:15 and 75 degrees with not a cloud in the sky.

I'm kind of blown away by how fast life grows back.   Gary cleared all of these flower beds ten days ago and today I came home to columbine and milkweed at my door step.

I spent about an hour in the rookery.  There were a lot of birds tonight.  The red winged black birds have flown the coop.   I haven't seen one in a week.  But there are several kingfishers and at least one heron.
I didn't see her at first, but I started focusing the camera on to things sticking up in the mud and found her.  Eventually she flew up onto a limb.  Then she puffed herself up, made herself as big as she could.   I don't know what else was in there, but I think something.

There was a bike tour or something happening and at least 25 bikes passed me.  I was very conscious of different sounds.

When I started back down the mountain I

heard a growl or something and looked back and saw a doe.  I think she growled at me.  I didn't see a fawn, although I know there are several close by to the rookery.

Twenty one turkeys in the big open pasture, and yes they are different ages.  There was kind of herding behaviour going on and I couldn't figure out what the motivation was.  I realize I know nothing about turkey behaviour.

There was a murder of crows flying around, too.

The black steer must be back in their fall digs.  They were really spread out tonight.
So I didn't go to Harvest Dinner tonight.  I always go, but I just didn't have the umphhh to force myself.  My body is so stiff, oh I am going to be so happy at the pool on Monday.
