How deep can it get without the beaver dam in place?  Yesterday's rain had an effect.  When we got there this afternoon there were 2 hawks, ducks, gold finch, swallow and kingfisher.  Did not see the heron today.

Worked at LAVA today.  Finished designing the 2 workshops we'll run alongside the gallery project.  I'm looking forward to them.   I also think we will have a book at the end; a documentation of the process.   I read all of the writing today.  There's some good stuff on the wall.  There's going to be a let down at the end, I'm sure.

After work Patrick and I drove up to the rookery for a while.  It's lovely.  Not sure what the temperature was, but kind of perfect.   I really do need to go back to photographing it everyday.  It's changing daily.
Patrick went hunting for rock behind Sherry's house.  He went to see if this piece of quartz was too splintered for sculpting or whether it had some mass that wouldn't splinter.

Further up this road there is this piece that's being used.  It's really interesting geologically.  I wish I knew more about rocks. It's another entire body of knowledge.  My sister, Barb used to tell me about rocks, but I didn't hold on to that info and I never took the class in high school

The summer is coming to a close.  They're talking about delivering kids to school next week.  I'm like, what? EJ goes back to Bard and I was just feeling like we were getting a routine down.

Do turkeys have 2 broods in a season?  We thought these guys all looked young.  You can see the babies, but the bigger ones don't look fully grown either.  I think there is only one Tom in this group.

I think we were up on the hill either a little early or a little late.  We saw several birds, and the steer were out for the first time in a while.  Other than that, no 4 legged creatures, just that one turtle in the rookery. Made us happy to see it.
I need to think through my camera situation.   I've learned this month that I need a camera and I need the Y.  I so miss the Y.  I hurt so bad.  We start back up Monday.  Yup, summer is almost over and a fall routine will begin in the next 10 days.  Oh well.
