Went to Shelburne to hear Sarah Hartshorne read from her book and talk about it.  It was really compelling and has prompted two stories for me to write.  Excited.  Her book is So You Wanna Be On Top.  Pick it up, I think it's a worthwhile dive.

Back to the Y this morning.  It felt good, soothing, and great to be back with my peeps.  We were all back today.   Spent a little extra time in the hot tub catching up and then I had to run to Jen's.

The yard was in bloom, filled with black eyed Susan's and echinacea and lots of purple.   I wish I had it in me to do this, but I don't.  So beautiful this time of year.

It's also been a month since I could get here and just have a place to talk.  It's an important part of my maintenance work.  I also need a massage.  But therapy is almost as good.  I realized how important it was to just go look at something new for a few days.  My nervous system seems calmer, my brain seems slower, which always worries me, but I am calmer.

Emily took this picture at Highland today.  It was a relief to her to see this turtle on the log.  I wasn't the only one yesterday who was worried about the lack of them in the green algae.  This poor guy looks a little overtaken by it, though.  I'm going to research it a little.  I thought there were some town funds to address the problem.

Sarah is my friend, Lea Bank's daughter.  I think the last time I saw her she was in a production of McBeth at Charlemont Academy.  I went to see Rhys McGovern.  I tried to go to all of Rhys's performances, so I saw several of Sarah's.  That was many years ago.  Maybe it was 20 years ago, at least 15.   Now she's a comedian, model, mother and author.  I'm really glad I went to hear her.  As I said, I think it inspired me to write two stories that are important to tell.  I'll post them when I get them done.
It should be noted that the weather was perfect one more day.  Tomorrow we are back in the soup, but for the past four it has been lovely.  I go back to work tomorrow so I will be protected by the a.c.  Tonight in Shelburne was pretty darn perfect though.
