The beginning of week 2 of Words on Art on Words; Ash and I hung the first additions to the wall.  We added 7 pieces, 4 pieces of visual art and 3 pieces of writing.

The center painting was done by Collin Ricketts in response to Leo Hwang's writing.  Collin posted it on his fb wall, too, and already people are responding to it there, also.  People love the concept of responding.

I'm going away and won't be back to LAVA for 10 days so I won't see the show until a couple more hangings are done.  Can't wait.

Another exciting LAVA project is happening, Clara is interviewing people about food and farms.  Today they were set up at the Farmers Market and at Fosters Supermarket.  This is a continuation of the humanities work we have been doing for sometime.
EJ and Diane came and visited for a little bit.  I'm so glad.  I've been having a hard time keeping my spirits up and they are good medicine for me.  I slept maybe 2 hours last night so I didn't feel able to drive to the mall, but they came and shared their spoils with me.  I'm hoping I'll sleep tonight.

Went up to the rookery at about 7.  It was still sunny and a little humid, but not overly hot.  There was a Great Blue and a Green Heron up there tonight.  The birds are beginning to take up new residencies and the start of a new eco system is moving forward.  I had the sense that the initial trauma to the environment by the drainage is almost over and the beginnings of a new space has taken root.

Unfortunately, it is not batteries that is the issue with my camera.  Something worse is happening.  I managed to take 7 photos with the Canon today after recharging the new battery last night.  It went dead.  So I used my phone as best as I could.  No green heron, and the GBH was the last shot I got with the real camera.

Last night, when Patrick was with me, he had binoculars, too.  It's nice to have both, but my eyes just don't cooperate with binoculars.

Tomorrow Jo and I are doing a vendor table at a book fair.  I hope I sell some books so I have a little money to take with me next week.  And I also home it doesn't get too miserably hot.  It'll be good to be with the writing world. I'm hoping I can borrow a camera that I can also take with me this week.
