Got some photos today. Got work done, a sweet dinner with Clara and her mom, a ride and maybe one poem. That's a successful day.
The reason for the photo of the weeds and vines beginning to over run the garage is to show how the grapes overtook the poison berry bush. You can still see the bush, but it is tiny next to the over abundance of grapevine. Too bad they're not good vines.
The next photo is of my dinner. DEEE licious.
Up to the rookery at 7:14 and it was 74 degrees, that's cooler than it's been in quite a while. I may even be able to sleep without the a.c. tonight, maybe.
The birds are beginning to come back to the rookery, the goose family looks like a lone family, a single standing resident. But the swallows are very evident, and a pair of kingfisher are active, too. And this young deer came to graze for a while.
I made the loop tonight just as the sun was beginning to drop below the hills. It creates this orange light all over everything, shining on the too tall hay drawing attention to the intricacies of the tops of the grass. There were snap dragons and wild orchids that always remind me of Amie. And it is in this light that the spirits in the trees are clearest.
I'll post my poem tomorrow, I want to give it one more edit. But it made me really happy to write. This was an inspirational week for my writing. Need to keep it up.
