The reception for Marlboro Remainders happened today.  I was unable to photograph it.  My friend Charmae took my camera in the beginning and got some good shots of the beginning.  Then I shot some of the Pride Parade and gave the camera over to Maddy and she took the rest of Pride.  I never went on to photograph the party.  I am sure there are plenty of photographs to be shared, but here are a few.

There is a lot to say about this event, and I believe it was quite successful.  People came I hadn't seen in 40 years and people who I rely on for my day to day life were there.   I was in extraordinary physical pain and had to let go and let others do everything.  Thank you, gang, for being there for me and understanding when my mind muddles.

I will write more as I process more, but I have to say I thought it was a damn good show. T. hung it, he really is a master at hanging a show.  People saw the impact of a good show designer.  You had 9 separate artists with no theme and no restrictions on framing, etc.  Then one has to decide the best order and way to put everything on the wall. It is in its own right, an art form.  He showed up as we were locking the door so he didn't get to bathe in the compliments as much as I would have liked.  But he got some.

A special addition for me was that several of the children (no longer children) who I have cared for over the past 50 years were there.  I love this guy so much, they marched with LAVA in the rain and then joined their mother, one5 of the artists, and me at the reception still clothed as a clown fish. Yup, we all belong together.

After the party, Kevin and I joined the Toleno family for Indian.  Tom was the advisor for several of the artists in the show. He had a stroke this winter so to have him sitting at the table with us was wonderful.  Robban, who is  one of Tom's sons, was an artist in the show, too.  His daughter came to the reception She is as delightful as her father and her uncle were.  I enjoyed getting to know her a little more today. Yes, the day was a gift.  I am grateful
