Not sure why the horses were not where they belonged, but it sure was beautiful

It was a lousy day for picture taking and on top of it being an odd light day, I didn't adjust the settings on my camera.  I used it inside at LAVA last night and it was not set up for the outdoors at all.  So most of these were taken with my phone, and we all know how I feel about using my phone camera.

I wrote a lot this evening, but with pen and paper so it's not ready to share, yet.   But it maybe good.  LOL

Actually, my whole day was just slightly off like I never truly woke up.  I got stuck playing Words With Friends and I didn't have an easy time with Sudoku.

Bird list was fun tonight:

GBH, Kingfisher, red winged b.b., yellow warbler, (whose song I've learned), swallows, grackle, some roadside grey birds and common merganser.

I heard many others including a barred owl and a Baltimore oriole.

The horses weren't in their pasture and a single grackle sat in the beaver pond.  Where was everyone?  It was really feeding time, too, sunset not for another hour.   I realized I didn't see a turkey nor a deer tonight.  And I was contemplating how wonderful the 10 seconds of seeing a bear or a bobcat is.

One of my friends found a dead otter in her creek the other day.  It wasn't clear what killed it.  I've been thinking about it ever since she posted it.  It feels so important somehow.  The otter is such a strong life sign and a hopeful sign, to find one dead on your walk is so sad.  I need to check in with her and make sure she is ok.

EJ is coming home in a week.  Makes me smile.  I'm such a sucker for those I love so dearly.   And they are really high up on that list.

My other godchild, Kora's daughter was in a school play tonight.  I felt really sad not driving up to it.  I never missed one of her mother's plays. (I don't think I missed any or her grandmother's plays, either.) But I worry about my car breaking down.  Ahhh, life and it's complexities, it's juxtapositions, it's dilemmas.
