Could feel Michael today.  I think he visited the beaver pond.

Definitely a duck's paradise out there today, although I would have thought it was a little chilly for them.  It was 37 at the rookery at 4 and pouring rain.  Mergansers, C. geese, black ducks and a pair i didn't identify in the rookery and a wood duck couple in the beaver pond and a mallard couple in the horses' watering space.   The horses aren't out yet.  Last 2 years they were out first week in April, but I think it's been colder this year.

I love the beaver pond in this light, Rembrandt colors, and when I can grab them, it makes me happy.

At the moment the sky is mauve.  The sun is setting but it is completely overcast.  This is the color I can never capture with my camera.

I really did make a commitment to EJ to write 350 words a day and I believe I did it again today.  Now I realize I'm not counting the words in my blog, which doesn't quite make sense.  But the rational is that I want to have a full poetry manuscript by the end of this year.  I probably have enough poems to create it, but I want them to be about specific topics, or one topic, that is love, made up from several subtopics.  Therefore, I am working on that with my 350 word commitment.

I wrote a poem yesterday, last night I hated, today I like it a little.  It works like that.  I am fickle.

Did I mention that Billie, my niece Sarah's child, was interviewed about her art by a magazine recently?  I'll try to post the link.  I'm having such a good time enjoying my family's successes this year.

  Billie Mae's Interview

The photographs from Asheville are so frightening.  The news from Myanmar is horrific, are we truly in this place in history?  I hope everyone is taking care of themselves throughout it and finding ways to connect and to help larger communities whether it is helping the earth or kids sing, or feeding people, or sending out postcards, something.  It's true that individually we cannot do everything, but collectively we can.   And its time to do it.
