Happy Birthday, Marti!
A trip to Michaels .
A lot of my day centered around The Literacy Project memories. TLP is having its 40th year celebration. They asked me to look through photos. I did a little of that today. Got me tripping down memory lane, got me looking at pictures of these young people doing all these cool things together a really long time ago. I gave Margaret a small collection today, I'll keep looking, but I have to say, it makes me feel old. It was a long time ago. Phil and I will do a joint toast. Not sure what its meant to be like. But I'm sure we'll be funny. Or at least we'll think we are funny.
Marti Tiffany worked for us 39 years ago. When she left TLP and went to New York she would come up on Monday nights for a consultant position and stay with me. Jay was doing a consultancy in Springfield that same year. Must've been 1986, the three of us would cook great food and blab all night on Mondays. We'd share dreams and writing and jokes. Those were wonderful evenings. I was sick though and didn't want to admit just how sick. Anyway, today is Marti's birthday. I sent her a birthday email and she sent me a video of her playing with her granddaughter on the beach. Some of those dreams came through.
EJ and I went down to Hadley about four this afternoon and did some anti depressant work, or mental health shopping. Neither of us really had the money to do it, but we stayed reasonable and it worked. I got a simple frame for the map they gave me for my Christmas present that they drew. I love it.

This little video Emily took today is my idea of perfection. It is true mental health food. Beauty.
After I left EJ off at home I wondered back to my place through the farm roads to catch the sunset. There really wasn't one, but there were a lot of dramatic clouds and some purple vistas. I didn't take the Canon off the seat, but my phone took a couple.
It was kind of a strange winding day, but I think overall it was good. And I have a new picture to hang on the living room wall and 2 new books to read. Oh and I found photos of my brothers and hung one on my wall. It's so interesting how different the three of them look. But it made me happy to find it. Michael has been gone 2 and half months, almost an entire season. I'm glad spring is here.
