Happy Birthday, David dear!!!

I'm sorry we couldn't see each other today on your day.   If I had a car I would have run to Amherst to give you a hug.  You are so important to me and I am so happy  your parents brought you into this world and that our lives knocked into each other so many years ago.

Another event has come and gone and I'm exhausted.  Again, it was really good, and again I was disappointed in the size of the audience, not the quality of the audience, that was wonderful, but in the size.

8 authors showcased their new book.   Jazmine Brewington read her aunt's poems really well, and I presented the Anthology along with my book.  I think those who were there appreciated what they heard.  The variety of writing was great, and there were as many new people as long time friends.

The children's corner got well used and the kids were eating the cookies and creating puppet shows, silently. They were really well behaved and during the mid point break one of them came and performed for me.  I liked having them there.  I'm not sure the event was very interesting for them, but they were great energy.

That was the last event I'm hosting for a few weeks, so I'm going to pay attention to my own writing. One of the other authors writes about adoption. She and I are going to get together and talk about it.  It's time for me to get the play out into the world.  While talking to Maria it was clear to me that I have other stories to tell around adoption.   So I may investigate some of those stories.
Thank you old and new friends for gathering tonight.  I am always surprised that I can be in a room like that and have 50 year friendships present.  I'm always amazed at how many people are intertwined with one another.  And I'm always amazed by how much more there is to do and say.

Joanne gave me the tulips to bring home. Yes, again, flowers make me happy.
