Happy Birthday, Baby Tilton!
Welcome to the world and our family.

sent to me at 9 a.m.   Everyone is healthy.

It was actually quite beautiful today, too windy and too cold, but sunny and many shadows to play with.

I was almost brought to tears today because of how kindly I was treated by so many people.  I've lived in this town since 1978.  I've been moderately active and many people know me.  I get greeted downtown a lot.  Some people find it difficult to walk there with me or be in the Coop with me.  Today was such a day.  I saw so many people from different parts of my life and I felt held in community.

I'm still without a car and Skyler picked me up to bring me on a couple errands so he had to suffer the "everyone knows Lindy" syndrome.  He drove me back to the house with my groceries and someone was digging out my driveway.

I didn't recognize the truck and for a second I didn't recognize the man.  It was Tom Luck whose family lives above the rookery.  Tom and his family and I became friends during COVID while I did my rookery research.  I felt very close to them quickly.  It was Tom's daughter who wrote the picture book about canoeing with her dad with the herons.  She also takes care of baby goats at the farm.   She has taught me a lot about goats.

Anyway, Tom drove by and saw I still had not been plowed out so he pulled over and shoveled 3/4 of the driveway and sanded it.  I got tears in my eyes.  It was such a generous act. I am so grateful tonight.  I've had 5 straight days of kindness and generosity.  I've had a few straight days of nothing going right, but simultaneously, I have been treated so remarkably well.  I think I'm getting better at this seeing everything at once, together, and being able to focus on the gifts.
Gifts like having a great nephew born to my very special nephew, Ember and partner, Karen.  Their family is growing and is special.  Thanks for including me, you guys.

Being loved and internally quiet enough to receive it is so very pleasant.

Tomorrow I'll get to the pool.  I'm also going to the Bookmill to write and take photos so I'll have new subjects.
