June 23, 2026 My parents were married this day 79 years ago in Sacramento, Ca. at the home of Paul and Lois Barnes. My great niece Anna Cole was born 25 years ago today in Toccoa, Georgia, I believe. She is my parent's great grand daughter and actually knew her great grandmother. Went to lunch at Cushman's in N. Amherst today, sat on the patio and watched the sparrows and a chipmunk eat corn chips. There were actually 3 different kinds of sparrow; song, chirping and I'm forgetting. (Amazes me how quickly these names leave my brain.) Then I drove David to Greenfield to pick up his new vehicle. I'm telling you the ride to Amherst was full of odd moments. I watched a guy in a golf cart fling a snake across Rt. 116. Several police and ambulances passed by. Odd driving stunts went across my path. Lunch was very good and very pleasant. It felt nice to be in gentle surroundings with no doctor appointments to go...

June 22, 2026 Definitely time to decide what creatures are hiding in my photos. In this one there is a goose family and a snapper. Rookery at 5 today, 67 degrees, rainy, foggy, duck weather. I hung out for awhile and watched the heron and the red wingeds, and searched for ducks and geese in the water. The algae has begun to build and the turtles are definitely a part of the whole. Yesterday's snapper was hiding in the back. He's big, maybe a foot in diameter. I took my ride and looked for 4 legged beings, but actually saw a lot of birds. My bird count today would be large if I had written it down. Gold finch are suicidal or stupid when it comes to cars. And there are a lot of them out there at the moment. I do love fog. And we got a lot of rain which is good. Patrick and I went to China Gourmet, by the time we got in the restaurant we were wet and the air conditioning was on. I ...

June 20, 2026 The Green River Festival is happening at the moment. You can tell that there is going be a gorgeous sunset tonight. All of my normal sunset watching places are taken up by festival parking issues so I'm going to have to watch it from my own yard. Not good for photos, so I'll post the blog first. Mr. Kingfisher put on a show for me and Sherry today. The rookery was close to perfect mid afternoon and he was hovering right in front of us and diving, plunging into the water. I actually got to visit with people today on a one to one level which felt nice; it felt more connected to a real life. Had one of my GCC advisees come up to me and start a conversation about going back to school today. He was my student almost 20 years ago, so he's 40. He's very LD and has a difficult time with executive functions, but is a good guy. I realized I wasn't really supporting him, so I stopped in my tracks and looked at him and said, ...

June 19, 2026 A family of wood ducks filling the canal I didn't have my camera on me today but I decided it was so beautiful I had to go over and at least try and write before I went to LAVA to do the box office. Yesterday I saw the hip doctor and he does not believe the hip is causing my pain. No section of my body wants to take responsibility. I think the issue is that it is not one source and no one knows how to think of the body as a whole any longer. I have no answers, but that doesn't stop the pain. So I need to make a list of have to next steps and make phone calls on Monday. Or just give up. Nah Yesterday, there was a big storm in the afternoon. I was headed to meet the new chick babies in Northfield. They are so cute. Today's babies were wood ducks. They are pretty cute, too, but not as much fun. You can't cuddle them. The chicks are brand new so we can train them as pets. EJ is a c...

06/17/2024 June 17, 2026 This photo could have been taken today. Red winged black birds are still talking to the goats at the farm. It was 78 and partly sunny up there today. I looked back at my photos for this week last year and in 2024 and there wasn't a lot of interesting work. There wasn't today either. Pain is not helpful to creative endeavors. I did get given a beautiful plant today and a bag of 5 new cotton tees. I feel blessed. Sweet dreams.
