Got my submission into Plum today. Realized there are a couple of narratives in the blog that stand out alone as a kind of memoir. I'm going to try and pull a few out and see if they are submittable as stand alone pieces. If you have any favorite spaces, let me know. I want to try to turn some of my attention to submitting again.
There were at least 8 kinds of ducks up there today. The only bird making noise was the geese, but the ducks were visible.
There was also a beaver. That's the first one I have seen in the rookery since before the dam broke through last year. He looked young, rodent like, but swimming the outer rim of the pond. And the colors today were wonderful, too. Turkey brown.
There was a thunderstorm early on and I think we may get another one this evening. Full swing, spring is in full swing.
I was woken from my nap by a sharp pain, a spasm in my left hip. I have no idea where it came from. It did not go away until I stretched my whole body out straight like you do with a charlie horse, and that left me with an ache in my lower arm. It was kind of electric in feel so it may have come from the squishing in my spine, but it shocked me.
It was a good food day, it was a horrible physical day and I adored the colors in the hills.
