January 26, 2026

Today would have been my Grandfather Whiton's birthday 1887-2026, 139 years.  I was in the 2nd grade when Grandpa died in June 1961.  I remember crying.

The view from upstairs at 8 this morning, I'd say 14 inches and a little higher around the car because of the plow.   The plow had not returned during the night.

It had stopped snowing at 3 a.m.  and it almost looked like the sun would break through, but the opposite happened, it started snowing again.   I'm not sure how much snow we actually got, but it is a lot and it has gone back to frigid.

In this photo you are looking down onto my front steps which are completely covered with snow, plus.

The plow came through during my nap time.  He got about 5 feet away from the door.

so I used the electric shovel.  It is not easily manipulated and my joints don't help, but it did the job and I have a path from my door to the car which I can't use yet.   That's cool, we like that.  I really only have about 10 minutes of motion in one take, but that was enough to make the path.  Thank you, Gary.
The wind picked up at some point because snow did come into the porch during the night.  So not good for my oak table.  I tell you I really like this table.  Gotta put the plexiglass back into that frame.

So cortisol increases blood sugar and it increases my tremor, too.  I started the day off in a very long and heavy conversation, which was good, but it definitely increased cortisol so by the time I got up and moving my blood sugar was too high for resting.  And it just continues through the day.  Believe me, the tremor does not help the manipulating of an electric shovel, either, nor the washing of a sink full of dishes.   It wasn't a good physical day.  But tomorrow I hope we can do all the stuff to get the car insured.   I've arranged rides through Wednesday in hopes that Clara and I will make it to the RMV on Wednesday afternoon with everything in hand.  YUP.  it's all gonna work.   YUP
