Up In Edite's Garden
a series

It was beautiful at the rookery this morning.  The water was sparkling and the Mergansers were playing.  It allowed me a moment of meditation and a time to organize my thoughts.

An article in the paper this morning was about ICE and some of the farm workers we got to know doing our humanities project last year.   It was time for some kind of action.  It is time for action.  It's also the day that Corey Booker broke the record for filibustering on the Senate floor.   His messages were quite articulate and clear.  The politicians work for the people and it is time for the people to stand up for what they want.  It is time for loud advocacy.  We decided at LAVA we need training to help sustain a safe space for all people.   I may not be able to march but I can get training to learn how to stand up for legal rights.

Also I want to take a class with Senator Booker on American History and the Law.

I watched several hawks today.  This one was over Jan's house.   It's not a red tailed, but it's big.

Edite gave me dinner.  I shot some photos in her garden, the garden of beautiful broken things and blooms.  I love it in this space.  I love to write in this space.  It was too cold this afternoon to write there, but I did shoot some early pics.

And I watcched the sun set over Unity Park and the back side of the cove.  There were gulls in the Connecticut and a single swan, but for the most part it was quiet.   There were no clouds and the sunset was boring, but it was so nice to be in light, I won't complain.

It was a very pretty day and I smiled more today than I have in a while.

This is what happens when you try to shoot the night sky with a tremor.  Sky is so clear tonight and if I knew it better I could tell you what planet this is.  But I love how clean the scribble is. It looks like a signature.   Or the beginning of a Picasso line drawing.
