November 23, 2025 My soon to become famous star Godchild.  I'm telling ya, they can't miss.   I wrote a lot today and I'll have to make something of it and share it, but what it made me sure of was I had to disassociate on Friday and I'm just right now coming back in. I think that all of the talk of the Epstein Files has been more triggering than I had assumed it would be, but as the ripples have begun to effect my friends, they have begun to infiltrate me.  I actually have a lot to add to the conversation of disclosure of abuse and especially sexual abuse.  But I have not found the appropriate venue to share those ideas.  And I don't believe this blog is a good space to do that.  I wish I did, and it maybe cowardice, but it's not.   I did write a lot today and I didn't take pictures.   I did go through old camera equipment.  I have to figure out what to do with old camera equipment.  I need to give Gary back his camera eventua...

November 22, 2025  Elizabeth Alderman, I was just informed by her daughters, would have been 100 today. I probably have more up to date photos than this one, but i continue to be touched by this one.  This is a photo of a rehearsal of The Bottle Imp, written by my Dad whose sitting at the piano.  Liz is surrounded by the male leads.  The musical relationship between my father and Liz stays alive in me.  Our families were brought together because of their love for music and their high level of talent. The families melded for a few years and always there was love between Liz and my parents.    Liz is one of those people I always wish I could have dinner with.  She taught me how to make spaghetti.  She honored in me my love for my father in the midst of his worse years, when you would have thought I should have hated him.  I never hated him, but it certainly was horrible to witness, and she got that.  I just had a long hard...

November 21, 2025 Happiest of happy birthdays my bestest, E J Worth The many faces of Eirnin J. Worth, the many talents, the many voices of this past 12 months; I honor them all today, their birthday.  I honor their ability to be themself no matter what the circumstances, to respect their self, to honor their place on this earth.  I love their humor and their brain that flies through the air at such a rapid speed.  I love their determination to do something, to make something new, plant grapes, learn the guitar, speak Ancient Greek, write with compassion. I love the fact they can know an entire score to a musical in no time flat or understand the words of the movements of multi roles.   I love them.  They are my bestest, for sure. I got out of the Y this morning to a phone message from my eye surgeon's office saying that my surgery had been canceled once again.  I feel I'm on a medical merry go round.   And tonight I have a headache so I'm no...

November 20, 2025 Twenty five years ago I was hoping I wasn't coming down with the flu.  Diane was about to give birth to her second child and the second one for which I was supposed to be her coach.  With her first I got iced out, she was in Beverly and I was in Greenfield and it was late March and it started to ice as she went into labor.  I didn't make it until the next day.  Well, in 2000, sure enough I got the flu on the 21st at work and she went into labor.  I didn't make it until  the next day.  So I would not tell anyone I was a good birth coach.  I'm not sure I made it to any of them I was supposed to be at.  But I specifically remember sitting here that night feeling that wave of nausea and fever coming on and waiting to vomit.  Great. But, that baby was born on the 21st and became my pal, my bestest.  25 years, holy mackerel.   Meet Jesse Holt, he's supposedly 28 today.  Time goes fast when you're having a ...

photo by Patrick November 19, 2025 This photo is of two very important people in my  life, 2 people who have been there for a very long time.  Today is Paul's 76th birthday, so he's been in my life since the beginning, my steadfast, warm brother.  I can't believe we are now elders. And then there is the rookery at 4 in the afternoon, on a cold day with a clear sky, a place of solace, and place of beauty.  I needed it today.  I'm so confused by the medical world, today I just needed to be surrounded by C. Geese and ducks.  The water is beginning to freeze too, and it was deep enough in the front part of the pond next to the cat tails that the bird life was all there this afternoon, right under my chin.   I also looked for otters.  This is otter time.  You can see how shallow it is in places, especially in the places where it is icing up.  On the other side you see how far across the grass grew and that the circumference of the pond i...

November 18, 2025 This is not Jiro today, but it's only a couple months old.  Today he came over with David, moved furniture, vacuumed and cleaned off tops of tables.  Together they moved everything away from my windows so that they can all be measured and new windows can be installed.   One of the delights of doing this kind of large almost purge is the little prizes you find.  Here is EJ at about 6 in Florida befriending the giraffes.  They were such gentle creatures.  We are standing on a bridge over the territory and the giraffes are as tall as a second floor.  They never had any worry about feeding animals or being close to them.  I fell in love with this guy, too.   photo by Emily. I love how painterly this photo came out today.   I found some Marlboro photos.  I'm kind of amazed at how many photos of myself I've amassed over the last few years as I've tried to put a photographic study of my life together. ...

November 17, 2025 From now on out I need more light than the world is offering me.   I said I'd do this the other day, November at the Rookery for the past 4 years.  Clearly one pattern is geese and ducks dominating the water.  And the lack of light or the angle of the light creates a haunted appearance.  The colors are dark hues and the dead trees look like dead trees and the grasses and cat tails arrive at their puffball status.   An interesting day, a hard night's sleep, the desire not to get up, yet, I did.  And off to the pool to make my body move through the water and travel enough to loosen some of these joints.   I organized help to prepare my house for the window people to come in on Friday and measure my windows.  I have to have everything away from the windows which means moving furniture and stacking photos, protecting plants, and putting an amazing amount of objects out of the way.  I think we will pack them into boxes ...
