Charlie is graduating from GCC in 2 weeks. It's so sad.  Well, not for him, it's not, but for us it is.

Had to have another panel of  blood tests done this morning.  It's kind of amazing how many blood screenings I will have in the next few weeks.  I was hoping I could combine 2 of them this morning, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.   I also found out that all of the procedures I'm having done in the next month are happening in Springfield so I have to find chauffeurs for them all. It really does take a village.

Went up to the rookery around 3.  The weather went from cloudy, to sunny and back to cloudy.  Never saw a rainbow, but I'm sure there was one nearby.  I did get some writing done.

There were a lot of birds.  I realized today that over the past 6 years the biggest change for me is my eyesight.  I used to be able to follow the kingfisher on the other side.  I can no longer do that.  I only know they are there by the way they move.

This young deer came and hung out.  She didn't know I was there until she was almost on top of me. She's young, maybe a yearling

Again there were deer and turkey in the meadows.  I saw no big birds other than a couple of hens.

It was kind of chilly, too, but it was definitely that first week of May green.  This has always been one of my favorite weeks of the year.  By this time next week the gnats and mosquitoes will have taken over, but at the moment it is all just lovely.

I went to Charlie's advanced art class gallery show tonight.  I really do like this stuff.  And I'm afraid it does make me want to build a new show even more than I wanted to last week.
The sense of depth in this one intrigues me.  I got him to talk about it.  It was the second time in 2 days I got to hear him talk about his work.  I can't wait until he's able to do his own single artist show and we can see the variety of work he's done in the past 2 years.  I've seen a lot of pieces individually, but I'd like to see it as a whole.
