Meet my friend Paul.  Paul runs Human Error Publishing and a series of different readings.  This is our joint monthly open mic.  We had 42 in the audience today and 24 people read.  Actually 21 read and 3 played music.  2 others shared the words from songs they had just written.  Music is infiltrating 1st Sundays which I believe is a good sign/

Peter calls the pieces he writes Song Poems.  I love the fact that Peter can come to LAVA and sit down and play for who ever is there.  His playing is good and his tunes are very melodic and today kind of reminded me of Star Wars.  He played, a new person played a couple of his singer songwriter pieces that I liked.  Somebody else lead us in a song.

The other day at the Fri writers open mic a young women played her violin as accompanied to writing.  I'd love to hear it again.

I really do like this particular community.  I think we go on too long and it's hard to always sit there and listen, but new people feel welcomed and all levels want to join in.  Ernie sits in the back listening and writing.  An English teacher for many many years, he's proof that once a teacher always a teacher and he always says personal things to someone whose just read who he's appreciated

Dina was one of 2 featured readers today.  She's so good.  She's one of those drops of love I carry around in me and when we are together I just feel its enormity.  I'm having so much fun identifying when I just know I'm full of warmth.

Nina's piece was good today, again I wish I was able to read things after I've heard them. I know that I miss words and I want to hear it again.  I want to be caught up in its flow again.

Learning how to listen to many voices in a continuous steam is a skill that I think I'm almost good at these days.  It's hard because of the change is so many variables every 5 minutes.  Today I got out from behind the front desk and was able to see people which makes me hear better.

Definitely a wonderful event today.  Thanks everyone.
