Aug. 2, 2025
I am fairly predictable.  I did not go to the Pocumtuc Festival today as much as I wanted to because I needed lone time.  Went over and saw Charlie and Ash who were re-doing everything we did Thursday night.  LOL. I'm glad I'm not OCD or it would've made me nuts but I guess I wouldn't do the work I do if I were.

It was the perfect midsummer day today.  It was stunning.  I drove EJ to work and did a little grocery shopping and then I came home to lounge in the perfect day.

My word processor doesn't seem to be behaving tonight.  I can't seem to cut and paste a poem I wrote today.  I managed to write a lot today up at the rookery.  It was so pleasant up there.  There were also at least five kingfishers feeding all together.  There must be crayfish in the puddles.

The cats were around, turkeys, cattle, more kingfishers, grackles and crows, lots of crows.

Goldfinch colors are brilliant.
The red of their tiny beaks
the yellow of their heads
Shine in the sun.

Kingfishers play
Dive from tree to puddle
Shallow still water remains
Algae begins to grow in bright green.

Kingfisher has maintained a home
and gathered family near.
Shallow puddles must house food.
Crayfish survived the water erosion.

Seven full grown turkey
colors dulled
waist high in purple
clover and queen Anne's lace.
Pasture in mid summer glory

Crows cahh
in their cobalt blue cloaks
smell of fresh cut hay
                                                                               and a heart
that hurts when I get too close.
                                                                               Yes, a perfect summer's day.

74 degrees at 5:30
Worried about some friends.
Happier than usual about others
Yes, a day in the life of Lindy.
